- EEG (Electroencephalography) means Electrical activity of brain measures by 10-20 International system of electrode application.

- CT Scan shows the Structural position of brain and EEG shows Function of the Brain.

Definition of EEG.
- EEG means Electro Potential Difference between two any points which measures by 10-20 International system of electrode application on the skull.

What is 10-20 International system of electrode application?
- Position of electrode placement measure by 10% or 20% of standard landmarks on the skull.

What are the precautions required before the EEG test?
A). Patient’s hair should be wash with shampoo & dry & free from oil on the day of the test.
B). No fasting is required.
C). Children below 16 years of age should be awake for 8-10 hours before the test

When is EEG test reqiured?
- EEG test is required in the following cases:
Headache, Migraine, Vertigo, Epilepsy or Convulsion, Involuntary Movements, Brain Tumor, TIA, Head injury with vomiting, Convulsion with fever or some jerks (For small children); Delayed cried by birth or Hypocalsimic attacks or Breath holding spells (For newborn or neonates).
