Palliative Care: Bereavement Care
Bereavement Care is given when the patient has left for the heavenly abode. After supporting the patient and family through the end of life phase and dying phase the team continues to give support to the family members even after the patient’s death, in the form of psychological counseling in case of excessive grief, insufficient grief or shock. In case the patient is the only earning member in the family, it is essential to rehabilitate family after the death of the patient. The social worker from the team helps the family to organize themselves after the death of a bread winner.
