 GENERAL OPHTHALMOLOGY CONSULTATION

• Refraction (Checking for glass number- vision for distance, near vision, colour vision etc)
• Anterior Segment evaluation (Evaluation of the front part of the eye) with Slit Lamp biomicroscope.
• Intraocular pressure measurement (IOP) & Fundus examination (retinal examination)
• Red Eye, Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS), Cysts/ Boils on the eye, foreign body removal etc is treated on OPD basis.

These are provided to every patient visiting the department on all days.

CATARACT & IOL CLINIC

Apart from the aforementioned evaluation, detailed retinal examination& slit lamp examination is carried out.

All cataracts including congenital (by birth), developmental & senile are treated using the state-of-the-art technology at affordable charges.

Patient can avail sutureless cataract surgeries.

• Phacoemulsification (Laser surgeries)
• Small incision cataract surgery (SICS)

All types of intraocular lenses (foldable, non-foldable, and multifocal) are available with us.

Nd: Yag laser from Carl- Zesis  is available for Yag- Capsulotomy (removal of after cataract)

VITREORETINAL SERVICES AND DIABETIC RETINOPATHY CLINIC

• Digital fundus camera for Fundus fluroescein angiography (FFA) and Fundus Photography
• Frequency doubled YAG laser for treating diabetics and other retinal diseases.
• Trans-conjunctival cryopexy for treating retinal holes.
• Dedicated vitreoretinal surgical instruments.
• Moller Wedel microscope and Millennium machine to perform complicated retinal surgeries.

Some conditions diagnosed and treated in Vitreoretinal clinic are: Diabetic retinopathy, Age related macular degeneration, Retinal holes, Retinal detachment (Simple and Complicated), Macular holes etc.

GLAUCOMA CLINIC

• IOP measurement with Goldman applanation tonometer (Haag Streit)
• Anterior Chamber depth and Angle assessment with the help of slit lamp and gonioscope respectively.
• Automated perimetry using Humphrey visual field analyzer from Carl Zesis to assess the extent of visual field so that the health of the Optic nerve head & retina can be estimated.
• Fundus photography- To document the changes in the ONH (optic nerve head) and retina can be estimated.
• Nd: Yag Laser from Carl Zesis for peripheral iridectomy (Yag Pi) in angle closure glaucoma.
• Glaucoma Surgeries- Trabeculectomy, Combined Trabeculectomy and Cataract Surgery etc are routinely performed.

PAEDIATRIC OPHTHALMOLOGY CLINIC

• Paediatric cataract evaluation and surgery
• Estimation of squint and necessary treatment.
• Evaluation of amblyopia and its correction

This specialty clinic is equipped with the following:

• Special charts like Allen’s card and Lea’s chart for evaluating vision in pre-school children.

• Assessment of squint is done using prism bar.
• Orthoptic evaluation done.

LOW VISION CLINIC

Low vision devices (LVA) are for those patients who are unable to see despite all corrective measures like glasses or surgery. Ex: Retinitis pigmentosa, ARMD,. We offer Low Vision devices such as – magnifiers, telescopes, CCTV’s, filters, non-opticals aids like typoscopes etc.

CONTACT LENS CLINIC

We offer all types of contact lenses. Eg: - regular, disposable, extended wear toric, prosthetic, piggy back & cosmetic soft contact lenses. However our team of qualified optometrists and ophthalmologists will decide the type of contact lenses suitable for each individual (after the trail).

COMMUNITY HEALTH SERVICES

Fully equipped mobile ophthalmic clinic goes around the villages and examines patient at their door step. Diagnostic camps being conducted all over Thane district and needy patients are operated at BHAKTIVEDANTA HOSPITAL at free of cost.
