An occupational therapist is one of the key members of health care teams. Occupational therapy involves improving the lives of those who may otherwise have barrier to leading fulfilling lifestyles.
 
Treatment Approaches
Different approaches are used in the treatment separately or in combination depending upon patient’s impairments and needs.

Areas of Practice
1. Paediatric:
          We offer specialized services for children & adolescents, aged ‘0’ to ‘18’ yrs. Provision of assessment and intervention to maximize performance of self-care, seizure and school activities. We deal with different case such as
  1. Development abilities like cerebral palsy, delayed development, mental retardation.
  2. Sensory processing problems, deficits in concentration attention span and memory such as Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
  3. Congenital anomalies, Down’s syndrome.
  4. Children having behavior problems and learning difficulties.
2. Hand Therapy
          When patients comes to occupational Therapy Dept. he is evaluated and assessed by Occupational Therapist for motor, sensory and functional problems

          Advised for splints, mobilization exercises and functional information are given to individuals with hand function problems

          For patients of hemiplegics, brachial plexus injuries, peripheral nerve injuries, following fractures and hand surgery, finer-function and coordination problems.
 
3. Brain Injury:
          We offer therapy for people with acquired brain injury, which aim to maximize the performance of self-maintenance tasks, leisure activities and work task. Occupational therapy mainly deals with upper limb functions, cognitive and of perceptual retraining or remediation and teaching of compensatory techniques.

Cases such as head injuries, paralysis etc.
 
4. Spinal Injury
          We provide services to maintain self-care work for people with neurological loss following a spinal injury.

          Along with upper limb functions, occupational therapist deals with prescription of adaptive equipment, home and work modifications.
