The
Audiology and Speech Therapy department in the
Rehabilitation center provides comprehensive diagnostic
and rehabilitative services for hearing impairment
and speech and language disorders. The department
caters to a wide age group i.e. from children
to the elderly. The following diagnostic and therapy
services are undertaken on an OPD and IPD basis. |

Audiology
Services provided: |
- Screening, assessment and diagnosis of various
types of hearing disorders. These tests are
commonly known as Pure Tone Audiometry.
- Remediation of certain types of hearing loss
by fitting amplification
systems like hearing aids.
- Hearing Aid fitting done for pocket models,
Behind-The-Ear (BTE), and In-The-Ear/Canal (ITE/ITC).
In addition high-tech computerized and digital
hearing aids are also dispensed by the department.

- Speech and language disorders in children
and adults.
- Delayed speech and language due to autism,
hearing loss, mental
retardation, and cerebral palsy.
- Articulation disorders and cleft lip and palate
rehabilitation.
- Voice disorders like hoarseness, breathiness
of voice, vocal cord palsy, aphonia, puberphonia,
spastic dysphonia and laryngectomee rehabilitation.
- Fluency disorders like stammering.
- Neurogenic speech and language disorders in
adults due to strokes, brain injury, trauma
like aphasia and dysarthria.
