Medical professionals have
the opportunity to learn an enormous amount about
living and come close to the innermost essence of
their patient's being. Being in touch with patients
in deep physical and emotional trauma gives doctors
and medical staff a deeper insight into their souls.
The Spiritual Care Department at Bhaktivedanta is
a dedicated group of doctors, nurses and other support
staff who reach out to the patients and help them
through spiritual and emotional counseling. We at
the hospital truly understand that all ‘cure’
begins with the healing of the mind. While treating
the patient for all physical ailments, the mind
is also provided comfort and emotional care.
The patients and their families are provided counseling
at their time of personal distress without barriers
of culture, religion or language.
The phenomenal results of the program have urged
us to devote more resources to this program. To
make the program a part of our patient’s lives,
the spiritual care department has launched the ‘Premanjali’
program bringing our ex-patients to the hospital
twice each year.
The department has also successfully treated many
people afflicted by substance abuse through its
programs specially structured to give continuous
support to the patients through the difficult time
of recovery.
