Community Services & Health Camps

 

The hospital has a well managed Community Health Centre and it takes care of the following activities:

CATARACT & GENERAL HEALTH CHECK UP CAMPS: It conducts free cataract and general health check up camps in Thane District.

MOBILE CLINIC: The Hospital has launched a Mobile Clinic with state-or-art equipment to provide concessional/free treatment to people in interior villages under Thane District.

COMMUNITY OPTHAL OPD: The Community Opthal OPD runs every day between 9.00am to 5.00pm in the hospital for poor people.

ADOLESCENT HEALTH CLINIC: Adolescent Health Clinic basically aims at empowering adolescent by increasing their knowledge, changing attitude and developing skills for adoption of healthy life style.

SCHOOL HEALTH CHECK UP:

In this project so far we have conducted over 10000 students health check ups.  The aim is to cover almost every child in entire Thane District. School Health Check Up is an important preventive measures under Primary Health Care during which the following purpose is served:

  • Major illness can be identified and timely treated.
  • Selective Health problems such as refractory errors, disability etc. which interfere with the child's performance can be corrected at earliest.
  • Healthy habits to improve the lifestyle can be inculcated by imparting Health Education of important aspects.

CAMPS FOR SENIOR CITIZEN OF WADA: It is supported by Lions Club of Juhu.  We have covered almost 1500 Senior Citizen from all the surrounding villages.  The patients who require speciality care are referred to the hospital.  All the care provided is completely free of cost.

OPD CENTRE AT WADA: In line with the community health mission of the hospital, two free OPD centres at Galtare & Hamrapur villages of Wada District have been started from 2009.  OPD services are running on every Saturday between 10.00am to 4.00pm.  Here the patients suffering from Asthma, Blood Pressure, Diabetes etc. and other chronic disorders are treated & medicines are provided free of cost to these patients.  For major illness the patients are referred to the hospital.

PANDHARPUR MEDICAL CAMP:

A free multi diagnostic health check up camp is organised at Sri Pandharpur Dham, to render the medical services to the Warkaris who come from the long distance from Maharashra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh to take the Darshan of their beloved Lord Pandurang during Pandharpur Yatra .  The famous DINDI starts from Pune, Dehu & Alandi.  Warkaris walk barefoot for 21 days during this and they develop a lot of health problems.  The Ambulances with 4 Doctors & 6 volunteers render free services during DINDI from Pune to Pandharpur.  Around 5000 Warkaris were provided free health care services.

At the same time 4 days camp is organized at Pandharpur Dham wherein 24 hrs free medical services are provided.  Every year  more than 35000 Warkaris take the benefit of this camp. 

EYE CARE CENTRE: It is supported by Lions Juhu Eye Care Centre, which was inaugerated at 5th floor, Bhaktivedanta Hospital on 6th September 2010 to help the community at large.
